just because the sun was still out, we did a spontaneous trip out with scooter rentals. i must admit i was nervous since i’ve never ridden a scotter in my life and haven’t ridden a bike in years. we rode it from the shop in mount pleasant to ubc, taking all the bike routes possible. i stayed pretty safe for the most part with the exception of putting my foot down while trying to stop at top speed. that really did it for my knee and i couldn’t put much weight on it afterwards. it was a really fun experience and this checks off one item off my bucket list. though next time i know to layer up because it got really chilly
fielded only six innings against wombats before time cap because we struggled to get outs. it was a little windy and fielding more than not didn’t allow me to stay warm and into the game. even at the plate, i didn’t have a good swinging night with two walks and two infield outs. if i recall correctly, wombats are in tier c. we’re still sitting at two wins thus far but we still had fun like we always do. encouraging signs that everyone is still learning and improving as each game goes by
speeding through the crowds of quarry rock to finish the entire route in fifty nine minutes. this is by far the fastest timed quarry rock i’ve ever done. it was relatively cool the whole hike up and it wasn’t until we were heading down for lunch when the sun started to peek out. although the original plan was to do st mark’s summit, we noticed the conditions appear unsafe. like most of the people we saw, we turned back and i’m glad we did. it wouldn’t have been wise to hike on ice with regular runners while people with proper hiking boots and poles were turning around
setting aside some time to do my run training since the sun run is only two months out. my lungs were clearly not used to all this cardio, i don’t know how people run the marathons or do ironman. though it’s sunny, the subzero temperature and icy ground doesn’t make it sense to be running outside. on my way to the gym i spotted a green apple mercedes on the road
it’s wonderful to see the blue skies, white clouds and sunshine outside my window. a good stretch of sunny days in vancouver and it’s more than welcome to stay. the warmth under the sun and chill in the shadows means spring is nearing. once again survived the wetness and darkness of vancity winter days but is there one more slope day before the season ends??
i had the desire to walk outside just because it was nice out. it may be sunny but it’s deceivingly chilly and that’s the typical vancouverites have gotten to know so well. i still want to deny that the season has changed, but there’s no denying when i need to pull out my autumn jacket. i cannot believe how fast time is going, it’s the end of another month and soon christmas will be approaching
at confederation park sneaking some water from the kids playground with all the right intentions. here to help complete an als ice bucket challenge for one of my nominees who took the time to actually prepare props and script. too bad it was a not so sunny nor warm day to dunk a bucket of ice and water
