day 2372 – work it out

felt lazy today but still dragged my butt to the gym because i needed this last check in to qualify for my january contest. good thing i did because i needed to move around and burn some extra calories. i did two things out of the ordinary. one, i forced myself to do ten minutes of cardio. two, i did not lay my hands on the barbell at all. instead, i followed up with ankle and shoulder rehab exercises like single leg balance, calf raises, bosu ball balance, heiden jumps, rows, cable pulls

day 2121 – icelandair

img_20200203_1335355565207429699869192.jpgdidn’t drive to work today because i’m leaving for the airport straight from the office. never taken iceland air before so i had no idea they were so stingy on allowances. so snacks or meals were provided even on a seven hour flight. icelandair also doesn’t include a check in luggage and charges an outrageous amount to have one checked. on top of that, the carry on size is smaller than other airlines. the seats were so cramped i would never recommend icelandair to anyone

day 1835 – bad shoulder

checking into physio because my shoulder is massively preventing me to live my life and carry out my daily needs. i’ve put a halt on all my sports, workouts and physical activities for two whole weeks, yet there seems to be no improvement. did some rotational and shoulder stability stuff with kinesiologist before physio worked on my shoulder, elbow, wrist, neck, and knee. i’m hoping whatever my physio adjusted today is what i need to get me well on my way back into sports

day 1759 – homework latteĀ 

this evening is all about homeworking while holding onto my cup of latte. i could be having fun on friday night, but i chose to do some catch up work at forty ninth parallel. there’s never enough time for all the things i must get done and the extra stress is noticeably getting to me this week. two more sleeps of home alone before my family fly back from their europe trip. it sure seems like they’re having a good time, but my mom still checks in to make sure i’m doing okay

day 1612 – skills competition

at a new venue with new fun games but same old game. a little action to once and for all test the how the brokenness deals with the game of hockey. taking my holiday break easy for the most part. putting my body through tension and maximizing it before checking in to physio where he did good amount of work on my hand. normally he wouldn’t worry whether my pain tolerance would withstand his adjustments, but he was extra compassionate to me today. he knew the work done on my long tendered thumb was very hard on me, but i exercised full trust in him and let him do what he needs on me

day 1125 – readjust

checking in with physio to make the readjustments required so i can function optimally. sneaking a picture in between sets of side plank with disc. the back has progressed each and everyday since wreckage, but nowhere near where it needs to be. then again, very little can stop me from doing what i like doing. since i am off limits, i was able to sit down and get some work and planning done

day 870 – check in with physio

physio needed to see me and i needed to see physio to assess and treat that finger and other banged up body parts of mine before he goes on vacation. i am very relieved when he said he’s almost certain it’s not a fracture and just a terrible sprain. although i am disappointed when he said i should still continue to wear the splint whenever possible. he didn’t even bother stopping me from doing my sports cause he knows me well enough to understand that’s not going to happen. the new kinesiologist shadowing today had little clue of what exercises i am usually given, so it was a chill day until the regular stepped in and changed all that. it’s the post physio blenz remedy i enjoy every time
