day 2206 – civil war bbq

by the time i showed up at the civil war barbecue, my window had closed and i couldn’t eat any food there. i only made an appearance but couldn’t stay out late because softball playoff first pitch is at 8am tomorrow morning. my neck and back is especially rough in the mornings so i needed to wake up extra early to give myself time to stretch and roll. i also preferred not to feed mosquitoes after what i’ve just gone through with the infections and antibiotics

day 2178 – flightclub birthday

a night at the facilities to celebrate flightclub coachs birthday. in the short span i’ve spent tricking, i’ve met a lot of new people within the community. i arrived late to the party due to another long teaching shift. we spent the night playing board games, karaoke, eating, chatting and of course flipping. there was no shortage of food and cake from the potluck. i stayed past midnight but not until the very end since i need to be up early for walk with the dragon the next morning

day 2113 – catchup time

it’s probably my fault that some hangouts happen less frequently than it should. finally catching up with a long time highschool friend over some food. it was good to just chat and download all the things that’s gone by. i realize all she wanted to do was to treat me to a meal for my birthday. i really do cherish that so much of our lives has changed, but our friendship hasn’t. maybe next time we can get a few of the core people out all at once

day 2106 – overdue chat

we met up for some sushi, but the main point was to have an overdue chat while we took a stroll. it’s been on both of our minds for far too long, but timing kind of played it’s game. i was just relieved to clear the air and any awkwardness it brings. a lot of the problem is miscommunication and timing. at the end of the day, we made sure that nothing really changes. in fact, it might actually help us solve some of the things that came over us during this stretch

day 1838 – funeral flowers

heavy hearted moment learning that one of my long time friend just lost her mother. i paid her family a visit and made sure she knows she’s supported. this must be a difficult moment for her and her family, but i’m really glad to see that she’s holding up well. we hung around after the prayers and chatted about how things will change and even how much she looks forward to our mini upcoming trip

day 916 – resourcefulness

fiddling with whatever i can get a hold of as the chat continued through the night. sometimes i need distractions to stay involved in a coversation. had an interesting conversation with really self driven and motivated people┬áthat’s always looking for ways to make an impact. the conversation made me think about things in a different perspectives and made me wonder if i would thrive with the same drive. what they taught me was you must first and foremost love what you do because there’s no purpose or reason in life without passion
