day 1454 – lonely corner

the cage may be full, but the squat rack on the other side of the gym wasn’t. besides being in the stuffy side, it’s not so bad here. in fact, i kind of like being alone in this lonely corner where i can be me. i must admit i felt the heaviness after enduring the past couple days. my back and hip is feeling funky; must have been the jolt from yesterday’s game. what’s on my glute doesn’t seem like it’s just a normal bruise. had to cut workout short before i do some extra damage to myself. it was nice to walk the park with good old buddy just to catch up and unload

day 1333 – saturday off

so this is what a saturday off feels like – no 7am alarm, doing my research, getting myself caught up with planning before an active stretching session. moving was difficult since i’m ultra sore from whatever i pushed my body to do yesterday, but i’ll take the soreness. hitting the spot with some ramen and some quality time with mo. i’m going to enjoy all twenty four hours of this because it’ll be a while before i can say that again

day 1241 – christmas underconstruction

image

once again doing our annual underconstruction crew christmas party with secret santa gift exchange. it’s not a complete crew until we get chu back and hopefully that happens next year. it’s never a dull moment with playing board games while listening to carols. i wasn’t keen on the penalties chosen but never want to be the party pooper. an awesome evening updating each other, chilling. the friendly fire and competition heated up once the games started, especially exploding kittens

christmas trees and decor everywhere, it’s all over my house too. i am reminded christmas day is only twenty two days away. the festive season is the time to spend time with family and friends, even friends that i haven’t spoken to since last christmas. the onslaught of parties and gathering and endless food is about to begin but it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on what happened in between the three hundred forty days

day 810 – rabbit roll

image

out eating late lunch and doing lots of catching up with a good old friend this drizzly sunday. ordered something new called rabbit roll which tasted pretty darn good. it’s a combination of shrimp, crab meat, salmon, crispy flakes, topped with sweet tangy sauce and masago all wrapped in cucumber instead of conventional rice and seaweed. i guess the good company and the food would take some of the focus off my ailing knee

day 677 – last of it

image

hamberite catching up time with more shaved ice at icepik which was fitting for a scorching hot sunday afternoon. call me old school, i stuck with green tea flavour just like last time despite hundreds of other possible combination. i promised myself this is the last of the dessert pigging out for a while because there’s been too much of it lately and not doing me any good

day 477 – aburi

image

nothing like spending quality time having japanese dinner with a good friend of mine. menu had so many yummy choices and all their dishes was set up with creative presentations like sashimi served on a block of ice and aburi with radish flower in wine glass. it’s a tiny little japanese restaurant on commercial drive and seating fills up fast. definitely a hidden gem full of good food
