day 2479 – squamish drive

i was pretty bummed out the weather cancelled my tennis plans. instead of sitting around wasting my saturday, my friend and i decided to take a road trip up to squamish to pick up the plates another friend offered to lend me. it was a long drizzly drive, but it was nice to take shadow out for what might possibly be my last road trip with him. we got home and couldn’t wait to put the weights to good use – a one rep max kind of session. from the get go, i said i would be satisfied being able to deadlift one hundred and eighty five but i went on to attempt a twenty hundred and five which was a no go

day 2414 – shadow maintenance

bringing shadow into bmw for its last annual car service under my ownership. it was another expensive service, but that’s nothing new with beemers. the exterior is looking sharp and sparkling clean, but i still need to give the interior a wipe down this weekend before i show it to potential owners. i hope to find a good owner who will take good care of it. i’m really looking forward to receiving an upgraded car that i’ve already put a lot of money down

day 2400 – parking lot

leaving the office just shy of five and the lot is empty. if anyone ever questions whether i have enough hours for the compressed work week, they should probably question twenty others first. it gets me so frustrated when micro-managing becomes a thing especially when someone’s just trying to mind their own business and get work done. it also bugs me that the high salary goes to waste on things like this

day 2371 – sunroof motor

the mechanic returned my car with the body fixed as good as new, but told me my sunroof motor is broken. the replacement part alone from bmw will cost almost nine hundred dollars, but i’m going with the used motor route. i get my car back while waiting for the part to be shipped over. even though i don’t plan on keeping this car for too much longer, i still need to fix it to get a better selling price

day 2365 – sunroof motor

i got a courtesy car from my autobody shop so they could fix both my hit and run, and the malfunctioning sunroof. the mechanic took my sunroof apart and found that my motor had snapped. i’m hoping they can source out a second hand motor so it would cost me over a grand. in the meantime, i’m driving a downgraded corolla around which feels way different than shadow

day 2348 – sunroof issues

sunroof has been working fine all along, all of the sudden it stopped working and now i can’t close it. what concerns me is it’s stuck in the tilt position isn’t susceptible to rain or snow. would prefer not to fix it with the dealership so i better get it fixed before my service next week. in the meantime, i’m driving with it taped up which makes a lot of noise at high speeds. all this is making a debt in my financial journey

day 2333 – hit and runned

shitty coming out of the gym after a workout to find your car was hit and runned. i can’t believe steve nash doesn’t have any security cameras outside in their parking lot. they’re going to resort to tim horton’s camera from across and hoping it’s angled to see more of the parking lot. i sure hope i find this criminal so not only do i not have to pay deductible, but i can also report this is icbc as a criminal offense

day 1722 – petrol prices

img_20200130_2323045355337486565170273.jpgit takes over ninety to fill up my shadow. the price to pay for one tank of gasoline is already way too high and there’s talk that it’s on the rise. i love my car and the flexibility of going to places anytime. there’s no way i’d give up driving, but doesn’t mean i’ll stop complaining about the high vancouver oil price. i don’t look forward to paying triple digits for on tank of gas

day 1226 – car ironing

imageimg_20200204_2142034165295790209916393.jpgthinking about car tires all day because of expected snowfall in the city and the new tire regulations up sea to sky highway. good thing both problems are resolved. one, by stacking some plates in my trunk to the add weight to my car. it might not be much, but should still make it more grounded and a bit less susceptible to skidding. the second, confirmed that my mom’s car tire meets the regulations to get up whistler

day 1098 – two series

dsc_9738.jpgwelcoming my brother’s two series to the family. after saying goodbye to his mazda rx8 more than a month ago, i finally got a good close up view of his new car since he brought it home. the blue exterior is alright, but the┬áspanking new five spoke rims look really nice. looking at it reminds me that i need to change my car tires and rims after the summer season
