day 1664 – boarding school

expected nothing short of crowds at cypress after some significant snowfall in the city. long lineups with freezing temperature, but still very fun learning how to carve properly. sunny day with lots of powder, but all the accumulated wipeouts are still pretty harsh. i’m slightly addicted to skiing and boarding and i want to keep going until the season end. but first, i have to stop at physio to fix up my whole body that’s beaten up from so much activity all week long; my physio will not be impressed that he has to attend to so many body parts

day 1411 – bone buldge

the bruising on this left foot is looking worse than hours before. i couldn’t put on skates today but that wouldn’t have mattered anyway as i’m way too sore from too much activities yesterday. maximal soreness results in minimal movements; my back ached, my calves tight, my hip flexor restricting, my foot and shin bruised and my si joint problems still persist. the soreness isn’t a big issue, it’s the persisting joint pain and abnormal bruising that worries me

day 1101 – snatched

pushing it hard at the gym this morning and not letting my cold get to me. after a long session, i came out looking like i was abused but it was all worth it because i was working on a lot and a lot of cleans. despite my throbbing headache, i am stoked since i had just done my first ever barbell snatch. although it is still very raw and still have a lot of mechanics to work on, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. i’ll stay persistent and keep working on it; it’s only a matter of time before it gets better and become second nature

day 951 – pants on

i spoke too soon and now i am once again out of commission. misfortunes happen and sometimes i lose all my motivation because i can’t seem to catch a break. i’m not going into details and won’t be disclosing any pictorials. all i’m saying is i’ll be switching back to wearing my pj pants around the house as opposed to shorts so my parents will not freak out. last thing i need is to give my parents more things to worry about and more reason to ask me to stop my activities

day 943 – multiple misfortunes

it was a rough night where one misfortune led to the next. began the night already feeling under the weather with a heavy headache but didn’t let that stop me from training and dodgeball. only later did i notice my wrist was bruised from smacking into the barbell racks. at dodgeball, i punched myself in the jaw while pulling my compression sleeve up. my mouth was bleeding, i’m basically icing everything since my jaw is swollen and my neck has a whiplash. it has been that kind of night, i’ll call it an early day

day 826 – tape addict

there’s no denying i abuse athletic tape and going through rolls and rolls of tape is something i am accustomed to. i rummaged through my bag tonight only to find six used, semi used and brand new rolls of tape. my dependence on tape and braces has become so strong, i feel that it would get me through my activities and i will be a-okay . i always believed that athletic tape, braces, bengay and advil are the solution to most of my physical problems. no matter how banged up, bruised, sprained or sore i may be, these will allow me to continue training and playing my sports as i wish

day 720 – day after wwtd

i had so much fun yesterday i almost forgot about walk with the dragon that also happened. i was not convinced two hours of rehearsal the morning of will do any good, especially in the blazing heat where i wasn’t the only one who thought we would get a heat stroke. i have to keep an eye out for concussion symptoms after being back hook kicked in the jaw during the demo. perhaps taking this week off any strenuous activities which is also a good opportunity to rest up my banged up body is the right thing to do
