day 2222 – fourth bound

after a full day at the dojo, i walked away with a fourth dan certificate. though i was satisfied with most, i was unhappy about one thing. i was bitter my x-out didn’t get the three attempts that all breakings get because he was worried i’d hurt myself. if held firmly, i was confident in breaking it. i’m still pretty proud i went for it considering the roller coaster i had been on the past few weeks. it was a good attempt and maybe the best attempt i had with boards. i’ll keep practicing and do it better one of these days for redemption. i’m just relieved this is all over. my beaten body full of gashes and bruises deserves the break after two long days at the dojo and of course all the work i’ve put into my x-out. definitely a smart decision to take tuesday as a flex day

day 943 – multiple misfortunes

it was a rough night where one misfortune led to the next. began the night already feeling under the weather with a heavy headache but didn’t let that stop me from training and dodgeball. only later did i notice my wrist was bruised from smacking into the barbell racks. at dodgeball, i punched myself in the jaw while pulling my compression sleeve up. my mouth was bleeding, i’m basically icing everything since my jaw is swollen and my neck has a whiplash. it has been that kind of night, i’ll call it an early day

day 702 – bang

woke up this morning feeling the ill effect of yesterday, as if i had fought a month long battle. the combination of being out late and room temperature being too hot probably has much to do with not getting enough sleep and throbbing headache. i found mulitple of bruised areas on my legs but had neglected what had hit me. apparently i have an even bigger one on my butt but that’s not appropriate to go public

day 604 – bashed legs

my legs are bashed with countless bruises from everything as of late. i didn’t even realize how much damage was caused and what i did that may have caused it but it may or may not be a harmful thing. i guess its just another sign my pain receptors no longer feel its something that requires my attention. it’s probably preferable my legs don’t take any additional beating until the current ones subsides. i think my physio’s going to have a thing or two to say when he sees this

day 486 – getting rays

waking up early on a saturday morning for some rays. so glad the wait wasn’t long, was in and out within fifteen minutes. i personally rather get the results after my dodgeball playoffs are over cause i am going to be playing regardless of the outcome. under such circumstance, no pan-am competition is probably a good thing for my beaten body anyways. i don’t know if these results matter that much knowing i have to take further tests

day 482 – adjustment time

my legs took a ton of beating and bruising lately including a bad knee collision a few days ago. instantly knew it was out but was still able to carry out my regular exercises the next little while without over compensating so i had hoped it wasn’t as bad as i initially thought. went in to check it out and my physio confirmed that my gut feeling was correct. getting both my knee cap popped back in place and wrist taken care of was painful as ever, but it had to be done. he gave me the hardest task possible and threatened i musnt make my knee cap out of place again. i will continue my long mission to search for ways to protect my knees keep them from shifting

day 361 – just rolling

my right knee has been clicking and uncomfortably pulling which means it’s time to roll out and release all the built up knots and kinks out of my legs. as painful as it will be, it’s necessary to getting all that tightness out and range of motion back. i expected to be badly bruised up after all that rolling but that’s nothing new, not like my leg isn’t already bruised up
