day 1966 – open doors

dropping in to a rare visit to open gym because i want to make a big push to regain some moves before christmas break kicks in. i’ve had a rough patch and felt like i’ve lost a lot of what i worked so hard for. tonight i was given some basic instructions and drills to get me started on the moon kick. after i got tired or moon kicks, i threw some gainers into the foam pit. also touched on some front tucks, roundoffs, handstands and back tucks. it was a productive open gym and i’ll look for ways to go to some more

day 1902 – cabinet vision

day one of a three day training on cabinet. vision. the expectation was to have a full day going through dry material while being trapped in a windowless room for eight hours. that wasn’t the case and it turned out way more interesting than expected. i was originally suppose to travel to ontario for this training, but instead, manager and coo was in support and brought in a presenter. company paid training and catered lunch from chopped leaf doesn’t sound too shabby

day 1770 – bootcamp

the office bootcamp is underway and the first session the pace was too slow. i guess the trainer wanted to see where the general fitness was at since we have quite a mixed bag. everything was pretty standard body weight exercise; too much jumping jacks for one day. although it was slow, i did break a sweat simply because it was quite warm being under the sun. i wanted to go to gym afterwards but thought about it twice since i had penta in the evening. i hope the pace and intensity of these bootcamp picks up in the next eleven weeks. hopefully this kickstarts and stabilizes my own fitness routine again

day 1553 – splint changeĀ

third time into hand clinic and fourth set of xrays taken within twenty four days. new specialist has taken over my case and i’m still confused with how i’ll be treated. he wasted no time; i get a new splint made right away and hand therapy begins. she assigned four exercises which i had plenty of trouble doing on my first set. i’m instructed these were to be done minimum five times a day. by the end of the day i made much improvement with two of them, but still struggling with the other two. these are very basic motor skills that i’ve lost made me feel useless. i can only hope that if i keep at it, it will get better day by day

day 1543 – muggy days

a whole week of wet and muggy weather further dampens my already bad mood at the moment. day fourteen of being in a splint and i can’t help but feel very depressed that i can’t do seemingly basic things. others just see me as being grumpy; it’s hard for anyone to understand what it means to me to be on the sideline missing out what i love doing. i’m doing everything to the best of my abilities, and that makes people forget how much pain and inconvenience i’m in. the countdown continues, but the thought of taking the risk is always on my mind

day 1534 – gstrings girls

appointed photographer and driven to dickens as photoweek for thursday continues. it forced me to see people and be sociable. it’s the only time i left the house cause i didn’t go into work yet again and it’s driving me up the wall. the swelling makes it uncomfortable to sleep at night, and can’t predict how the swelling will fluctuate throughout the day either. i feel useless that i can’t even take care of myself and don’t want to get out of bed to face the day

day 1510 – hand pain

it’s back to square one. after my making my first catch of the dodgeball night, my hand was in excruciating pain and could no longer grip a ball properly. being me, i thought that if i taped it would allow me to play; if i taped more i could continue; and if i tape enough to make it immobile, i could finish the night. i finished the night, but once the last game was over, i realized i no longer have a functional hand. it does open nor close, it doesn’t hold a fork, nor a steering wheel; it basically doesn’t function for my basic needs
