day 2372 – work it out

felt lazy today but still dragged my butt to the gym because i needed this last check in to qualify for my january contest. good thing i did because i needed to move around and burn some extra calories. i did two things out of the ordinary. one, i forced myself to do ten minutes of cardio. two, i did not lay my hands on the barbell at all. instead, i followed up with ankle and shoulder rehab exercises like single leg balance, calf raises, bosu ball balance, heiden jumps, rows, cable pulls

day 1962 – handstands

putting in some handstand work at the end of the session since there’s limitations as to what i can and should do with my hyper extended knee. going upside down isn’t a natural thing, but it’s slowly getting more comfortable. there’s a couple instances where i found the balance point for a split second. it’s good to do a video check here and there. at least i see that my body is not arched. i really should spend more time practicing to make them better, especially on days where i’m damaged

day 1910 – crepe cake

girls night out at the gym before crashing a home for movie. we caught up a little while watching deadpool 2. we filled ourselves with homemade poke bowl ingredients before the main event which is all about the dessert delicacies. the earl grey and matcha flavoured crepe cakes plus coloured pearl bubble tea. it was good, but i would have to keep these decadence to a minimal for the meantime. it’s also quite a pricey enjoyment

day 1401 – feeding off 

after a stressful mental battle with stacy garcia deadline for eight hours, my mind was drained. a quick visit to chiro with steady recovery for my back and ribs, but bad news for my hip. it was humbling when a power lifter i frequently see and viewed from afar came to introduce herself. i look on as she’s feeding off his encouragements as she goes. what i didn’t know was as i’m impressed with the amount of weight she pushed, she is equally impressed with my coordination and balance as i did my olympic lifts and pistols

day 1245 – disc pistol

i rolled my eyes when i was first introduced to pistols three years ago because i didn’t think i could. i was in for a big surprise today  when i found out i mastered the weighted disc pistol. i’m very happy this was unlocked at my morning appointment today. i have no idea how many times i watched and rewatched this clip. of course, this all happened prior to being treated by the physio when he forcefully adjusted my knees and rearranged my back and ribs that’s still preventing me from cleans

day 1217 – seven to ten

img_20200204_2140381662529174013502486.jpgcrazy long day working and schooling for fourteen straight hours and hanging on with five hours of sleep. got home from class half past ten and felt too tired to even eat. it doesn’t help that i’m super stressed out about my term project due in a week on top of the final exam. i am still establishing a protocol to sleep earlier, all for my long term health benefits with the changes my schedule demands

day 1216 – onboarding

img_20200204_2141105930001196133293209.jpgnot the typical onboarding day when i only have a company lunch with the bosses and don’t even get to sit down with my manager until the last hour of the day. with her going away on vacation, i’ll have to prove i can tread and swim in the deep end. it will be a big learning curve cause she’s already put a lot on my plate. i’m expected to learn on the fly, but it’s just another test for me to crush. first day so far so good; everyone tries to keep it a fun environment
