day 2278 – back handspring

i’m very happy to have ended my dry spell by landing my back handspring on floor after class. this is a move i wanted a while back but was told to hold off until my back tuck was consistent. drilling it the past weeks while staying patient with my bounding moves has really paid off. although it’s been feeling good the past week and getting spotted floor attempts, i couldn’t get myself to floor it by myself. good thing i was pushed to just do it today and landed a decent one on my first attempt. aside from my back handspring, i’ve been feeling pretty good with a few other moves

day 2120 – flips and flops

packing could wait for until i was done my flips. i was adamant on going to flightclub tonight because it’s the last one before my long trip. i had both my ankles taped just to air on the safe side. my back tucks felt strong today. pretty happy i landed all my back tucks with shoes and no spot, meaning now i have a higher chance of doing some while i’m in other countries. it’ll still feel very different on harder surfaces, but i’m think still willing to try. i hope that stays true when time comes

say 2109 – ankle update

inflammation and infection seems to have gone down but it’s a no go for hockey. i jammed my foot and ankle pretty bad at the tail end of training yesterday, which makes me believe i am in dire need for the ultrasound or mri. it frustrates me because the fact i actually got my foot around on my butterfly twist attempt was also the cause of the jam. i was hoping i would get in earlier from cancelations, but doesn’t look like i’ll get my results before i leave for my trip

day 2013 – frozen pipes

shadow desperately needed a bath, but the outdoor pipes are frozen. i attempted to do a quick rinse anyway. i found filled a bucket with water, but that clearly didn’t work as planned every time i put water on to the car, it would immediately freeze and turn into ice. i’m afraid i won’t be able to give it a good wash until the weather warms up, which hopefully wouldn’t be too long of a wait

day 1901 – attempt practice

a failed attempt to practice after sunday poomsae training. intended to have some extra practice after all the kids left, but didn’t get much done and ended up going off on some discussions. i think i’m going to try to set some time aside to get some extra practice in for myself; testing to see if i can get myself back into it. in need to set some goals for myself with some deadlines

day 1165 – diy sushi

our thanksgiving longweekend started off adventurous. besides my coaching duties, much of our day was spent venturing at tsawwassen mills, shopping and trying to be iron chefs. did my share of window shopping at the new outlet in the morning; the lineup and hype hasn’t decreased one bit. night time was spent in the kitchen with our best attempt to make sushi. our final product looked oddly shaped and very unproportional, but it tasted a lot better than it looked

day 1157 – still tried

three days is as far as i got before i gave in to gym and taekwondo. i kept it as close to my game plan as possible, which was some form of cardio and isometric exercises. i tried super hard to keep my distance from the cage in case i do something that is off limits. it is the deadline of registration so i had to attempt some taekwondo. i didn’t get very far into training before i knew it’s a no go. i’ll still keep trying over the next week and maybe, just maybe a miracle will happen and perhaps be allowed to do a late registration
