day 1871 – eastsider

a flashback to the time when gstrings girls got together to celebrate our spirit owl win. one of the most fun dodgeball team i could ever be a part of. the chemistry we’ve developed on the court and the bond we’ve created off the court is something i wouldn’t give up. even though we’re taking a break, here’s hoping we will be reunited for another run for the money

day 1777 – winner winner

who would go to penta when i could be hanging out with these girls. presenting season 24 and 25 gstrings, back to back to back season winners of hootie the spirit owl. we ordered nothing by appetizers including nachos wings, yam fries, salad and brussel sprouts. a bill that was suppose to be over one hundred and twenty came out to eight all thanks to being sprit winners. pigging out on finger food after bootcamp sounds like an acceptable combo. even though gstrings won’t be in next season for various reasons, the return for season 27 is already in the talks

day 1747 – spirit owl

hootie the spirit owl is once again in the hands of gstrings. we are well on our way to defend our third eastside craft house gift card. this playoff, we have a good chance at the title and i had set my eyes on the tier five wrench. things didn’t unfold the way we wanted to; we started off on the wrong foot and got swept on our first series. we dug deep, rallied as a team and made it a lengthy playoff. we clawed back series after series and made it one game short of going through the back door finals. though i’m disappointed we didn’t come out as champs, we certainly fought like one. i’m proud of these ladies for not giving in when we easily could have called it quits. this officially closes the books for season twenty five, a comeback season for me

day 1691 – she-unit

showing up in plain white beaters and snapbacks for another year of kings and queens tournament. the tournament competition level was very high as always and although we didn’t make it far into the elimination rounds, it’s always good to be with the gang. good thing my chiropractor was on site to do some heavy taping on my shoulder so i could hold it down enough to play. i must say it was weird playing in white beaters and i don’t think i’ll consider that again

day 1654 – queen’s tourney¬†

looking at some old photos of when we last played queen’s tournament, and now we’re looking ahead to this year’s. frankly, i haven’t played since september and i can’t tell if i’m missing the sport or missing my friends. it’ll be a real test for that thumb of mine come next week when i step back into the court to field balls. i’m not sure how i feel but i’m sure that’s not relevant. honestly i don’t know how my physio hand specialist feels about that, but making my comeback is bound to happen

day 1593 – hootie

back to back season winning the spirit owl with gstrings. we uphold to being a highly spirited team in regular season and that’s no different at playoffs. an early exit wasn’t what we expected but we came out of our zone and my team knows it. the hardest part of being on the sideline while my team was on the brink of elimination is knowing i could step in to help but at the same time, couldn’t. if doctors gave me the nod, i would have in a heartbeat,¬† risked everything to play in a splint and have it taped so all surrounding joints are immobilized. at some point i just realized people are right and i need to take it easy at the right moment. regardless, i still wanted to be there for my team

day 1534 – gstrings girls

appointed photographer and driven to dickens as photoweek for thursday continues. it forced me to see people and be sociable. it’s the only time i left the house cause i didn’t go into work yet again and it’s driving me up the wall. the swelling makes it uncomfortable to sleep at night, and can’t predict how the swelling will fluctuate throughout the day either. i feel useless that i can’t even take care of myself and don’t want to get out of bed to face the day
