day 2504 – after class fronts

this week covers one of the move i really want – cart front. i was tired from the heavy squats earlier in the morning, but i really wanted to keep practicing after class. the coach came up to watch, but was displeased with what he saw and how i was drilling it. i felt bad because i let him down; he had every right to be angryhe grilled me until i could do it with the proper technique he wanted and sometimes being pushed hard is what makes me dig deeper. i really do appreciate that he spent time after hours helping me out with a move i really wanted. he’s also the one that doesn’t give a crap about my self confidence. i know i can handle it, but it’s also demoralizing

day 2415 – phone spam

waited well after class until all other classes and students dissipated so we could have some space and equipment to work with. during the wait, we had fun trying out the vlogger life by spamming photos and videos on someone’s unattended phone. sadly neither my back tuck nor any of my kicks felt good today. i did get a chance at the very end to work on my webster and aerial takeoff. i’m still ashamed i don’t get it and i can’t tell if i’m making progress with it

day 2406 – back flip story

training after class as usual and then coach tempted me with an impromptu back flip on hard surface. i didn’t think twice before agreeing to throw one to go on his story. back flips hasn’t been my focus the recent months so i was surprised this one was better than all the ones i threw on my europe trip. i really would like to throw more of them on hard surfaces, on command. i also wish i could level up on new tricks which is why i’ve been working so hard on flash, webster and raiz

day 2362 – tricks and kicks

i’ve, for the longest time, avoided training kicks at tricking because i’m really scared to find out i won’t be able to kick ever again. ever since i found out the real truth about my ankle, i’ve been really down just thinking how much that will affect all the things i love to do. i’ve since learnt that i will still be able to train certain things back if i rehab it properly. i want to make it a priority to rehab properly and train kicks because it’s quite unacceptable if i don’t have some kicks. i started with cheat 720 and backside 900 tonight and i’ll keep drilling it until i get them

day 2288 – traffic nightmare

a traffic nightmare at ironwood intersection after work. some coworkers decided not to wait in line and went to the riverside, others walked to the plaza for dinner. i on the other hand waited in line and was trapped for over forty minutes before i got onto number five road. instead of waiting more at knight bridge, i went straight to the gym to do an upper body workout instead

day 2212 – maxi knee

slightly sprained my lcl as my chiropractor says, but he agreed i could tape it up to keep doing my things. taped it up in the morning to go with my gym attire because the team is doing a full morning of showroom cleanup. together with the sales director, the two of us did the heavy lifting, moving seven vanities with stone tops, many headboards and bedbases while the three others some boxes, linen and bubble wraps. at the end of the tricking session, i made some headway on my touch down raiz which was surprising because up to two days ago i still had no idea what i was doing. i hope to continue that and use it in a combo one day

day 2147 – back at flips

ever since i got back from my europe trip, my body has been experiencing nonstop and soreness. soreness from one thing hasn’t left my body and more soreness is added from another activity. i’m still really happy to be training again and seeing the people i’m used to doing flips with. working on arabians after hours because i haven’t landed anything in a long, long time. it’s definitely time to get a head start on some new moves and make better progress

day 1962 – handstands

putting in some handstand work at the end of the session since there’s limitations as to what i can and should do with my hyper extended knee. going upside down isn’t a natural thing, but it’s slowly getting more comfortable. there’s a couple instances where i found the balance point for a split second. it’s good to do a video check here and there. at least i see that my body is not arched. i really should spend more time practicing to make them better, especially on days where i’m damaged

day 1909 – webbing drills

stayed well after class to practice because i want my websters. it was the perfect time to drill them because i was able to receive some valuable pointers. i was drilling and drilling them into the foam pit; long enough past dinner and in time for late night matsuyama with the gang. i keep wanting to hit the open gym times, but it’s always difficult on weekdays with my early morning starts

day 1888 – big leap

front tucks made vast improvements with my front tucks tonight. stayed after class for another two hours drilling them and getting them on footage. not only was it my first day landing them on red, i also moved to blue and landed them too. it was looking so good i was asked to take it to the floor, but i opted not to because i was nursing so many injuries. never have i thought that i would land a front tuck on the floor before a back tuck. i do regret not taking up that offer, but i’m aiming to land them this week
