day 1723 – knee down

one knee down and only one working knee left to hobble on. i felt like a genius laying all out to make a beautiful play at handball, but my body isn’t feeling so genius after the adrenaline died down. it’s probably the right decision to skip out on dodgeball when i can’t fully weight bear on that leg. as much as i want to play, i shouldn’t take that risk. what i really need is my physicians but one is on vacation and the other is overtly busy. i’ll manage myself with some home remedies

day 1620 – game ready

first game back in league action after a three month haul of rehabbing and a lot of waiting. it was a painful process that i never want to go through again but i’m glad it’s behind me now. i’ve long for this day to come and i’ll admit i had butterflies leading up to arriving at the rink. stepping on the ice for my first shift was a little strange and that comes with no surprise. the calibration process didn’t take long; i felt much better and adjusted even on my second shift. perhaps getting the adrenaline going and focusing on the game itself got my legs back under me. it feels so awesome to be officially back in game action and no signs of ill-effects coming from my hand. the happiness that’s running through my body well after the game will probably keep me up, but i have a good reason to smile and points to show for

okay i am not going to lie, i am as tired as i look in that picture all due to plenty of last minute cramming. not to mention dealing with a completely battered body because of cramming in late night practices days before. had a severe groin pull and major pre competition mental crisis even my friend ben couldn’t help out this time no matter how many times i slapped it on myself. luckily the adrenaline carried me through my part of the competition, but my groin was immobile the rest of the way and i needed major help in every way. i was contemplating for the longest time if it was the right time to pull out my new poomsae uniform, simply because i don’t feel ready and worthy of wearing this just yet. given what i had to work with, i am satisfied with my performance and no one can deny that

claiming two golds and one silver from washington state cup. riding on the highs of adrenaline is the only reason i am still standing. being majorly sleep deprived after little sleep the week leading up to trip and only catching a three hour snooze the night prior to competition. proud to say it was a success and the team bc was well represented. first time going to this competition and we gained respect and turned some heads from other competitors, coaches and masters. this may be a start of something that leads to bigger things. the bonus is its my first competition after the summer of knee horrors, and everything seems to be feeling fine so i hope to put that in behind me and look forward to the good days
