day 2533 – sip bowl

after chiropractor adjustments on my knee and shoulder, i met up with a friend for lunch in kerrisdale. not a lot of restaurants are offering dine in, and even then, tables are very sparse. sip bowl’s menu doesn’t offer many choice, but they’re known for their house noodles. the signature beef noodle i ordered was pretty good, but i think i would enjoy my friends cold noodle a little bit more. i really like their solid plank tables with their logo engraved because it reminded me of the work i did on cactus clubs

day 2530 – regular squats

steady progress of my injured knee continues in my garage. i’m excited to be off the box squats and onto regular squats. taking the advice and making adjustments to my stance the past few sessions to make it more sustainable to taking on heavier weights in the long run. the knee itself felt pretty good, but the groin was a different issue. good enough to do four sets with a plate on the bar. had a special guest join us for today’s session; i must say he was quite the entertainment. he did however make it difficult, so some of the workout got cut short

day 2503 – last of paris

a year ago was the last day touring around paris on our memorable europe trip. i could say i miss travelling and other activities, but i also don’t really miss the hectic ‘normal go go go’ life back then. covid has really changed a lot of what the norm is now – my life turned completely one eighty. it took a while to adjust to the pace, but i made the adjustment and don’t mind keeping it around longer. this could really steer my life in a different direction full of possibilities

day 2442 – training accountability

one thing that’s really worked during this quarantine grind is we keep each other accountable. both of us felt sore and tired, but we kept up with the training because we knew we needed to push through for the whole ride. we trained, but trained smart and adjusted to only doing things our bodies could handle. for me, it was focused on aerials, websters and back handsprings. it’s good that my webster is back on track and felt good after a few off days. i’ve also committed to do a better job at stretching to get my flexibility back

day 2036 – physio visit

my ankle was obviously not in good working form so getting it checked up because i can’t afford to have any time off. the faster i fix it, the faster i’m on the roundoff back tucks again. the reason i love my physio is he’s good at what he does – fixing my injuries since highschool. he knows me so well that every time i visit, he would work his magic on my many failing body parts and get me back to my sports in a jiffy. this was time no different. it’s amazing how much better my ankle felt after he did some adjustments

day 1505 Рphysio revisited

img_20200204_1602416275322506906200057.jpggetting my hand checked out gives everyone a peace of mind, but knowing it’s more serious than i thought isn’t what i wanted. he was not surprised of another new injury plus my preexisting list of injured body parts. to my physio’s dismay, he told me not one, not two, but three tendons were sprained. i guess the pain i felt was real but forcing it very hard wishfully thinking the pain isn’t real. having high pain tolerance is good but it does come back to bite me. also got my knee and hip adjusted as per usual and wasn’t expecting my knee cap to be out as well. aside from my knee, he was quite happy with the shape i was in

day 1125 – readjust

checking in with physio to make the readjustments required so i can function optimally. sneaking a picture in between sets of side plank with disc. the back has progressed each and everyday since wreckage, but nowhere near where it needs to be. then again, very little can stop me from doing what i like doing. since i am off limits, i was able to sit down and get some work and planning done

day 708 – just another

physio this morning brought some surprises. first time this year i need not to do muscle stim which i guess is good and bad news. maybe because my left knee was acting up and needed his attention. another surprise, but not really surprised, is both my hip and tailbone were a little messed up from that raccoon incident. it was so busy at the office today the wait was even longer than usual and before i knew it, i spent too much of my morning here
