day 1258 – at the cage

my legs are sore from yesterday’s workout, but also been a little too casual with the rolling and releases lately. my left knee is pretty banged up but onwards with my program regardless; hitting up a different location, but still hammering down on those same exercises. aside from the unusual tightness, i felt good and pushed through my routine with less difficulty

day 688 – ultra sore

i was right about my legs feeling like they were hit by a truck. totally expected it to feel this way after yesterday’s visit. every part of my legs were sore to the bone and many times when i felt like my legs would give in. sitting, walking and all the most basic movements were all so difficult and painful. even when i wasn’t moving, i could feel the muscles pulling in every possible way. the world must have stopped spinning because i managed to climb into bed before midnight

day 661 – tape up

spent a good chunk of my saturday night watching playoff basketball, taping myself, rolling out and massaging my ailing groin. i am all taped up in a lot of places i feel like a mummy on a certain level, but i am feeling pumped and ready for action. tomorrow will be a big day for me, it is finally my turn to take my promotion test for a third stripe. just the grandmaster, all my senior instructors, a couple tens of students watching and my pride on the line, no pressure. now i would appreciate very much it if i am able to fall asleep with this stomachache that was also costing me sleep time the night before

day 492 – stop drop selfie

my interpretation of a constipation face or just a normal reaction from the pain of rolling out knots. i figured the most appropriate response to the stop drop selfie challenge is to do a stop drop and roll selfie, literally. thought this was a pretty good way to end the week by taking awkward pictures of myself foam rolling on the ground after a friday night class. the truth is, i do this quite often

day 453 – foam roller

extended time away from my regular gym routine really doesn’t sit well with my body. my legs are sore to the bone after leg day it hurts to do any kind of movement including walking and standing. rolling out the tightness is brutal but it must be done and all i can think of is it hurts so good. i guess this is what i must pay for when i don’t keep up with my gyming

day 442 – big bullies

was happily minding my own business and rolling out the tightness before practice begins and this is what i get from a group of monkeys. this bunch of big bullies took this opportunity taking selfies while trying to harass and beat me up while i am down with messed up knees. two days and counting until we hit the road but still practicing even if i was on one leg because it’s now or never
