day 1918 – venom pumpkin

my team’s jack-o-lantern submission, the venom, came second in pumpkin carving contest. dressing up to work today is obligatory because this office takes halloween very seriously. i didn’t put a lot of thought into planning my costume but pulled out a last minute burglar outfit. a whole afternoon of halloween extravaganza with food, contests, games and pumpkins. it was actually quite tiring and maybe more tiring than actually working

day 1917 – red feather

a meeting was called to discuss about red feathers and how it went down. red feathers wasn’t exactly an easy project to to work on, nor was it one that people wanted to stick their hands in. what bugs me most is one person kept sticking her nose into things and stirring the pot. there’ll always be people who choose to point fingers, but i’m hopeful there’s enough that wants to solve the problem

day 1916 – ergo mouse

back to work feeling unrested after a weekend of work coaching, working and playing. i could definitely use my sleep if i could drop a thing or two. i have no complaints about my current standard mouse but thought i’d give the new batch of mouse a try. it felt kind of weird to have an upright position. call me old school, i think i’ll pass on it and stick with my current mouse

day 1915 – hockey is back

it’s good to be back at the rink after missing the past few hockey games due to overlapping schedule. i was afraid i’d be slow coming out of the gate but i held up and even registered an assist. the scoresheet isn’t really an accurate representation of the high scoring game. it was a fun game but man i’m tired from invigilating a blackbelt test that went wrong in far too many ways. being put in the spot to do something i haven’t practiced in three years isn’t exactly cool. good thing i managed to do it and come out unscathed

day 1914 – courtside mastercup

it’s showtime for my students who’s going to compete in this year’s master cup. to all those stepping on the mat at provincial stage, i’m proud of all of them to have the courage to compete. to all my competitors, i’m happy to see the improvements in each and every one of you. this is the first time friends outside of taekwondo world came out and it was quite fun. the freestyle poomsaes is what i had to stay for, even if it meant i would be late for teaching. i’m super exhausted after the long day of coaching and teaching. i cleaned up to pass out before ten thirty

day 1913 – headway

feeling pleased with my back tuck and the progress i made this week. the motions seem smoother, the landing feels more comfortable and the flip as a whole feels stronger and tighter. it also helps i’ve been able to workout more like how i used to, getting some of my plyo movements closer to where they used to be. i feel like i just need that extra push to make the breakthrough i’ve longed. besides the back tuck, the webster and cartwheel also feels a lot better through the drills and extra reps

day 1912 – design table

the new drawers we put in to the plant production finally came into the design studio. it was a massive unit hence it was a big struggle maneuvering and lifting the quartz top. with the help of eight people, we managed to transport the old out and new in. i’m just relieved the cabinet fit into the space or else all fingers points at me. the new drawers definitely puts a big upgrade to the design table and design area as a whole
