day 1674 – march madness

march will be focusing on me; not on what others want or need, but what i need and what i want. reason being march will be a hectic month trying to get everything back running in full line and at top gear. i have to be a bit more selfish because i realized i give up too much of myself for people who show little appreciation. i have a ton lined up. i made a few commitments along the way, balancing work and balancing life while staying on top of my diet are all keys to how successful i’ll be

day 1673 – grunt session 


needed some grunting moments as a source of outlet prior to having my taekwondo meeting with grandmaster. i really needed to unleash all that anger with endorphins emitting activities and iron was just the thing. the frustration of being continuously bombarded with phone calls and messages up to the hour of the meeting. didn’t kick up any of his calls because i didn’t want to be distracted by unrelated work matters. needless to say i was so distracted and deflated to the point where i didn’t want to hit the gym, but i’m glad i did it on a day where i felt so unmotivated

day 1672 – ferreros 

working my way through my work while working my way through the boxes of ferrero rochers. it doesn’t help my case when a client drops four dozens on kitchen counter. can’t resist the ferreros; they are one of my lifetime favourite chocolate and it would be morally wrong to just let it sit and not be eaten. i’ll just have to so a better job in other areas to make up for the lack of discipline here

day 1671 – dimsuming


i don’t recall the last time i ate dimsum, but it’s  safe to say i can now eat them guilt free. my love for malaysian cake, ha gao and rice rolls never changed. switching up the diet has its perks for reasons i can enjoy food with variety. since the switch, my appetite has improved significantly, or maybe it’s just a result of improvement in my overall state of mind. either way, the trend is heading in the right place in multiple aspects of my life 

day 1670 – morning run 

treadmill in the morning is something i’d only do for the sunrun. i felt better than a typical day despite running fasted. no surprise i grabbed a smoothie to replenish and on my way to teach. my typical saturday is basically run and gun until dinner time so my ramen with parents is well earned. i’m no marathon runner and i don’t see myself ever transforming into one, but i’ll put up with it for as long as i can. i signed up for this challenge, so i’m going to keep going because what i put in is what i’ll get out of it

day 1669 – snow boot

snow boots all around after hours of flurries. the flurries of snow fall was continuous throughout the day and got heavy at certain points. i risked it and drove to work with my shadow, but got very anxious as the snow fall got heavier and i see my car covered in six inches of white powder. like many others, i left work early, but not early enough to avoid the congested road. it took over 75 minutes of slipping and sliding before i got home, but thankfully got home safely

day 1668 – weathering


the cold vancouver winter is quite frightful and unpleasant for my shadow. the weather forecast has issued a heavy snowfall warning that starts at 6am. i don’t enjoy the snow on city roads because i’m slipping and skidding everywhere. the sight lines up at the mountain is a much better view. it’s making me think back on the warm summer days when i would be outdoor without frozen fingers
