day 1485 – casual pr

my hand still hurt like a beep but going in cold for my second try at my normal monday workout. my crippled hand is still painful to open and close, meaning no deads today but still got to finish the squat portion. i went in just wanting to lift something without judgement, but instead casually matching my post rehab record weight for four, which is upped from last week

day 1484 – overtiming

staying late at work to rush some drawings for stacy garcia meeting. workload has been a little overwhelming the last little while especially with manager away. it’s great that i’m stepping up to  take on more responsibility and that he’s shown more trust, but it comes more overtimes and frequent lunch breaks are not taken. it is exciting that i will have this collection tagged in my portfolio; who knew i’d be designing a whole line of casegoods? maybe this serves as the distraction away from decision making with the grandmaster

day 1483 – mini blender

this mini blender better be as good as it looks because it was quite expensive after adding up shipping and import charges. that’s the problem when ordering merchandise from asia. because my hand still won’t open or close entirely, it presented challenges at the gym. it was so painful trying to grip barbells and weights that i just wanted to leave the gym. instead of doing my normal stuff, i had to refrain from anything that involved gripping

day 1482 – playoff pump

was super pumped for my playoff game and ready to play hard as i took my freshly retaped stick and sharpened skates to the rink. i played the strongest game i possibly could and had the firepower from the very beginning with a goal and an assist to show for. i skated on the top line, earned myself powerplay time and also awarded player of the game. even though the loss tonight ended the chick’s season, there’s still tons to take away from this season. i have taken great strides this past season and it’s really an accomplishment when the guys in the locker room nominated me as most improved player. better yet, even guys i play against are acknowledging my the progress i’ve shown

day 1481 – pitch and play

after a full day of round robin, back on the diamond pumped for softball playoffs. no one expected us to last long in the playoffs, but we made a case for ourselves making it deep into the playoffs. playing five games in nine hours one break in between was tiring, but i played some of my best games as the day wore on and so did my teammates. we played our way up to semi finals and potentially could have been finalists. props to everyone who came out to play. win or lose, i’m proud of the team for finishing the season strong after such a fun season. that tan just got a whole lot darker after being on the field all day

day 1480 – riverway round robin

rounds robin day for softball at the nicely groomed fields of riverway sports complex. going to be camping out in these eight diamonds for the next two days to finish up slopitch summer season. it’s an activity filled saturday full of slopitch, teaching and then hockey. i’m very disappointed that drop in did not happen as i was looking to play a serious game two of playoffs. no one would suspect there’s a mix up of rink bookings after playing at the same time slot since may

day 1479 – quartz top

new quartz counter top and sink unit to show for as my parents continues to make changes and upgrades to the house. i wonder how much money my parents dished out to revamp the house this summer. the new layout is looking pretty rad but they don’t seem like they’re going to stop there since they mentioned about ordering new cabinet door fronts and new dining table top. there’s also talks about re-doing some of the living quarters on the top floor
