day 762 – self destructive

image

monday blues definitely hit me really hard. woke up with a headache and feeling crappy overall, not wanting to get out of bed, unable to be productive and not knowing what to do with myself. the gloomy wetness outside only makes matter worse and all i want to do is sit around and do nothing. do nothing it was, and i got a starbucks that i don’t deserve one bit. but later in the afternoon, i willed myself to get some stuff done instead of being a completely useless human being

day 761 – after the storm

image

apparently there is vancouverites still living without power thirty six hours after the storm hit. i feel sorry for those who have spent the past thirty odd hours in darkness without electricity and most importantly without wifi. i guess yesterday’s storm really hit the city harder than first imagined but life must go on. if anyone wanted tips of eating and passing time during power outages, eating hotpot at home is the way to go

day 760 – road disasters

image

a rainstorm overnight caused citywide chaos in just about every form. from road blocks due to fallen full grown trees, major intersections turned four way stop due to malfunctioning traffic lights, poor water drainage causing street floods to massive power outages that spread over numerous neighborhoods. as if that wasn’t bad enough, everyone seems to have forgotten how to drive properly like it was an apocalypse. seriously, stay calm and drive on or get off the road so you don’t stop the rest of the population. just because the traffic lights are malfunctioning, doesn’t mean you as a person should malfunction as well

day 759 – price drop

image

i was driving along knight street and couldn’t believe the price of gasoline tonight and obviously couldn’t miss out the chance to get cheap gas. haven’t seen this price in vancouver for so long and it’s definitely welcome to stay. with this price a full tank of gas could possibly cost me less than eighty dollars which is unheard of with inflation and the outrageous cost of living in vancity. better get it now cause i know it won’t last long

day 758 – physio checkup

image

having my regular morning physio check up and it was a positive one, held up nicely since last visit and that’s huge for me. it’s a sign of progress and a big step in the right direction considering i have been doing a fair amount of my activities during this time span. my reward for having such positive feedback is some trolling courtesy of my physio and kinesiologist who demanded some unexpected numbers and then threw a curveball at me. i had a lot of hesitation but they gave me the sense there was no way out of it knowing i must do it or i am not going home

Aga – 一加一

she has a pretty good list of songs that’s worthy of staying on my car music album. i like this song but i don’t even know why. just something that i would like to listen to in the car and wouldn’t get tired of it even when it’s on repeat. i guess one plus one does equal two and that there’s possibility out of every seed you plant. everything you see is all about perspective

day 757 – love this sport

image

my body is tired and still recovering from the long trek but nothing is going to stop me from enjoying the pleasures of tennis – the love of my life. if the opportunity presents itself, i don’t need a reason to be here playing this sport. my arms felt extra heavy and still feeling rusty but i still had a great time hitting the hardcourt. need more days like this to fill my life with much more tennis

day 756 – beat the rough

image

late night gym time all to myself to digress because it has been a rough day. just needed some time alone to let me mind rest and let it all out and couldn’t think of a better place than this. i figured this is a better way of putting my excess and bottled up energy to use because earlier today i came ever so close to kicking someone in the face and had to use every possible reason to restrain myself from letting my limbs loose. if it did, she wouldn’t even know what hit her. i can’t believe how rude and irritating some people could be; she clearly crossed the line today and i take no exception

day 755 – hello there

image

have the monday blues and feeling ever so tired. came home to find this stranger in my garage, far from the dark grey car i call my neighbor. for a second, i thought my parents bought an additional car and then it struck me this is the courtesy car my dad will drive while it get the autobody shop gets its bumper fixed from being rear ended. was expecting another s class mercedes. my dad tells me he’s not pleased with the new rav4

hiking adventure – stawamus chief

image

wouldn’t be making good use of my summer time and the abundance of sunshine vancouver has to offer if i wasn’t out doing summery things. wouldn’t want to let another summer go by without having done the stawamus chief, so i was going all out this weekend. no taking it easy even though its my first time, might as well get my money’s worth by doing all three peaks in one go. the beginning leading up to the trail split felt like an endless climb of stairscases and it probably was to a certain degree, by the end i climbed well over two hundred flights of stairs. really enjoyed the chains and ladder part and would have had better use of my spiderman skills if people in front of me were mildly faster. downhill portion was a knee buster for my bad knees, and they didn’t stop short of letting me know. part of the fun is to pose for obligatory selfies at every peak, and doing many stupid things along the way. this was an eye opener to do longer and more intermediate terrains, it was definitely another worthwhile hike. looking forward to doing one more long one before summer begins to wind down
