day 457 – halloween contest

my masterpiece for pumpkin carving contest that won my team second place award. it wasn’t perfect by all means but found ways to cover up the little mistakes along the way. it certainly didn’t turn out exactly how i drew it up but still proud of the final product. we were expecting much of of this because we were worried that the design was too simple, but sometimes less is more

day 456 – breaking new ground

lack of action picture so here’s what my kinesiologist claimed as his awesome water bottle. feeling accomplished i am able to take my rehab execises up to next level after patiently working at the same level for a few months. it helps being trained and constantly pushed to take steps breaking into new ground and greater difficulty with each exercise. and now i need to keep my lifting consistent and work my way back to the weights i was capable of during my peak form. i am eager and feeling determined to pick it up and break into more new territory very soon

day 455 – vdl halloween week

it is a vdl tradition of halloween dress up week. halloween enthusiasts came dressed up with some cool costumes ideas  for vdl contest to win some unknown prizes. i don’t traditionally dress up and i had totally neglected to brainstorm of any costume ideas. i was high in spirit but low in energy and mobility as i was still mightily sore from previous gym session, someone must have forgotten the importance of protein

day 454 – fright night

second ever fright night and it wasn’t too shabby. even though my shoes and socks were soaked from random moments of down pour, it was still a memorable night. had some actors chase after me as i was running towards the roller coaster. a few haunted house and handful of coasters, hellavators and other rides capped off a wet rainy tuesday. the lit ferris wheel was very calming in between houses, especially at its peak i could see the world from up top

day 453 – foam roller

extended time away from my regular gym routine really doesn’t sit well with my body. my legs are sore to the bone after leg day it hurts to do any kind of movement including walking and standing. rolling out the tightness is brutal but it must be done and all i can think of is it hurts so good. i guess this is what i must pay for when i don’t keep up with my gyming

day 452 – bittersweet october

these fall days are dreary, the hardest part is waking up in darkness and going home in darkness. vancouver’s fall season isn’t exactly welcoming; the sky is gloomy, the clouds are abundant, the rain falls heavy and temperature drops quickly. with what i can see outside the window, i cannot lie to myself but summer has left us behind and i cannot help but miss summer even more than before

presence made at governor’s cup

another competition group picture worth sharing. after claiming our bling at governor’s cup in washington last week, master shin greeted us to congratulate our success and invited us to pan-am next month. we certainly turned some heads and opened some eyes while we were there and that’s what we really need. in my opinion and of my own interest, it is important for us to put our names and faces out there beyond the province of british columbia. if we want to grow as a school, as a team and as an individual, we must get to know the people out there and make them notice us. washington was a good start; we have lots on our plate, next up oregon.
