it’s what we call dedication when we practiced through a power outage during our final rehearsal for richmond oval demo. it was hot, it was crowded, it was dark but with the help of a few headlights, we pulled it through a two hour rehearsal in darkness. it was quite a fun and amazing experience

day 272 – richmond city hall
paying richmond city hall a visit in a very rushed manner to submit some drawings and made it five minutes before deadline. first time stepping into a city hall, these government paid staff are so rude and impolite yet they get incredible salary and benefits for the job they do, not to forget their good working hours
day 271 – canadian bills
random interest in collecting full sets of canadian bills. how things have evolved through the decades from traditional paper to modern plastic. those one and two dollar bills no longer exist due to years of inflation. goods keep getting more expensive and standard of living continues to rise, yet the economy seems to be on decline
day 270 – strong urge
mr sun is out, the weather is changing for the better, i want to be out on the hardcourt hitting my green balls. at the same time i know i have to hold off and set my priorities straight for much more pressing issues. no hardcourt, no other sports and minimal dodgeball until i return from nationals. i can’t afford to have any hiccups because i have already committed to compete. i can look forward to having a lot of playing time this summer after competition
day 269 – universal icons
day 268 – spanking new
it brings so much joy to see that we finally replaced the old green and yellow mats with these spanking new blue and red. depised the old mats that caused me to sprain both my knees on the same day the night before my most important competition thus far. installed just in time to let us practice on these mats and prepare for nationals. with this change, the school looks completely different and so much more legit in every way, i hope there will be more equipment replacements to follow
day 267 – nike frees
spending a fortune these days and this time i invested in another pair of nike frees that i have been eyeing since it first came out. the style and colour had me from the very beginning, i guess this is what you call love at first sight. utterly most comfortable shoes ever and will need to take extra good care of this pair. but as long as i work hard, it will be worth every penny
day 266 – training gloves
waited so long for sportchek to restock these gloves and they are finally within my grasp. they feel a bit more snug than i’d like but i’ll break them in. if the style that i was eyeing was not sold out, i should have gotten gloves a while back to lessen my worries of calluses. i guess now there’s no reason or excuse to slack off with the lifting
day 265 – hoops at pub night
catching a raptors playoff win while enjoying good eats and sharing quality moments with fellow hamberite. can’t stop staring at the amazingly ginormous original joe’s fish and chips. we obviously ordered way too much food for just the two of us and the worst is we both failed to take the leftover packed food on our way out. at least the raptors series all tied up heading to brooklyn
day 264 – keep at it
keeping my routine and not skipping even when my schedule is completely overloaded head high. it’s important i don’t sacrifice my gym time because i learned to build up slowly and take the necessary steps that will eventually get me to where i want to be. must work for it since nothing comes overnight
