day 92 – training hard

image

instead of setting fireworks, i am spending my halloween night training hard two days before competition. my legs were so messed up as of late, waited long enough finally able to extend and kick without too much abnormal pain. worked hard and repeated each step tens, fifties and hundreds times that my hands are so overworked

day 91 – not just any dodgeball night

image

on halloween week of dodgeball, much of the focus of my teammate is on not getting hit by the genies spout during games, avoiding getting swept by crazy tier 1 teams…while playing with caution and minimal talking because i still don’t have my voice back and competition is right around the corner

day 90 – me, myself and i

image

since i have lost my voice completely, i will be in a quiet world of my own. seeing my family doctor didn’t help at all, she said i should not talk for next three to four days, not even whisper. made teaching a challenge not to mention teaching a group of students a┬ánew technique an entirely unique experience

day 89 – feel like crap

image

when the bad comes, it seems to come all at once. on top of compensating for my ailing knee, i am now mute and sick, all occurred and fallen apart in consecutive days. drinking some nasty benylin, calling it a night and hoping things will feel a lot better when i open my eyes tomorrow morning

day 88 – 1 in 10000

this is quite an interesting stat that’s most worthy of noting. coming across another taekwondo blackbelt is rarer than you would expect. it’s a symbol of the training you put forth and the perserverance of not giving up through all that. not everybody who puts on a uniform will know where they end up. i am humbled to have made it and it’s something i would never take for granted. i certainly started my taekwondo journey not knowing how far i would get and where i would end up, but here i am still going at it and taking the opportunities in my own hands

day 87 – knee crapped out

image

of all days, my knee just had to crap out a week before my master cup competition. swollen and dislodged out of place and my only concern is if it will allow me to participate because there’s very little that’s going to prevent me from doing it. when it comes to timing, i think i am pretty bad at it

day 86 – snail mail

image

reaching out to my beloved underconstruction team and sending off souvenirs from my vegas trip. don’t recall when was the last time i did the old school thing to send off letters with snail mail. i had difficulty finding an envelope, a place to buy stamps and even then when i had all the pieces, i didn’t know where to place it on the envelope
